Jackson County and Spencer West Virginia Medical Marijuana Patients to Get Local Cannabis Production

The medical marijuana program in West Virginia is starting to expand, with new facilities coming to Jackson County & Spencer, West Virginia soon.


While there are no dispensaries operating just yet, patients have been getting approved for medical marijuana cards ahead of the expected rollout of dispensaries for early 2022.

Tariff Labs, a nationwide cannabis company focusing on cultivation facilities and dispensaries solidified plans to put down roots for their production plant in Jackson County, and a new dispensary in Spencer, West Virginia,

Tariff Labs to Open Production Facility in Jackson County

Tariff Labs is set to invest nearly $12 million into the first phase of their development plan, offering 100 jobs for their new location.


The facility, slated to begin breaking ground soon, will house more than 37,500 square feet of operating space on more than 12 acres of land in Jackson County’s Maritime & Industrial Park, housed in the former Anixter building.

Tariff Labs has made big plans for West Virginia, by partnering with Fireland Scientific of Huron, Ohio. The company plans to install at least 10 dispensaries across the state.

Between the company’s large production facilities and eager plans for multiple dispensaries, Tariff Labs is expecting to have products on the shelf sometime in early 2022, likely between January and March.

Tariff Labs Plans for Dispensary in Spencer, West Virginia

Aside from their lofty plans for a large production facility, Tariff Labs is also setting up to open a dispensary in Spencer, West Virginia.

With plans to ultimately have around 10 dispensaries selling medical cannabis products across the state, Tariff Labs & Fireland Scientific are making big moves to get cannabis facilities operational for 2022 in West Virginia.

According to press releases from the companies and the Jackson County Development Authority, there is a high interest to produce outdoor grown cannabis, as well as a commitment to high quality cannabis products for pain management:
