How to Get a Medical Marijuana Card
Getting a marijuana card in West Virginia is quite simple.
Step 1: Schedule an Appointment With a Marijuana Doctor

If you don't have medical records, you may be eligible for a Diagnosis Consultation to determine whether you have a qualifying condition. Diagnosis Consultations are only recommended when appropriate, require an additional $39 fee, and do not guarantee a diagnosis or approval.
During your appointment, the marijuana doctor will review your medical history, discuss your symptoms, and determine whether you qualify for a WV medical card.
Step 2: Receive Your Doctor Certification
If you're approved during your evaluation, your marijuana doctor will provide the certification needed to continue the application process.
This certification confirms that you have a qualifying medical condition under West Virginia law. It is required before you can register with the state for your West Virginia medical marijuanas card.
Step 3: Complete Your State Registration
After receiving your certification, you'll complete your patient registration with the West Virginia Office of Medical Cannabis, which our team will help you complete and submit your state application during your appointment.

Once the state approves your application, which can take up to 30 days, you'll receive your medical marijuana card via email, and you can digitally download it or print it out.

After your application has been approved and marijuana card has been issued, you can visit any licensed dispensary in West Virginia. When visiting a dispensary, you must bring your marijuana card, digitally or printed, and a government-issued ID.
