West Virginia Opens Registration For Medical Marijuana

Updated: Nov 1, 2023

Medical Marijuana Registration in West Virginia To Begin This Week

The wait is finally over as West Virginia residents with a qualifying condition are able to begin registering for their medical marijuana card this week.

Residents who receive a written recommendation from a certified physician for medical marijuana treatment must submit their documentation to the Department of Health and Human Resources in order to receive their patient ID card.

The DHRR also recently announced a list of 100 businesses that hold permits to open dispensaries in West Virginia. Once patients obtain their medical marijuana card and dispensaries begin to open, they will be able to purchase products including pills, oils, dermal patches, topicals and a form of cannabis that can be vaporized.
